The Francis Scott Key Chapter was organized in 1910 and was named for the patriot who, during the bombardment of Fort McHenry, composed the poem that became the National Anthem. The Washington Custis Chapter was also organized in 1910 and honors George Washington and his wife, Martha Custis Washington. Both prestigious chapters have given many decades of distinguished service to the community, and in July 2002 successfully merged to become the Francis Scott Key - Washington Custis Chapter, NSDAR. We are active in the Baltimore area, diverse in ages, and place an emphasis on patriotism and women's issues. We cordially invite you to join us and help us perpetuate the goals and ideals of the society in the twenty-first century. Biographies:
